Hi, all! It’s been a while. While Abby’s off enjoying the Florida sun, I thought I’d check in about new year’s resolutions. A lot of people are anti-resolutions—that they set you up for failure, that they overcrowd gyms for one month out of the year—but I love taking some time in January to think about what I’d like to change in my life. Even if I don’t tackle the beast starting at 12:01 a.m. on 1/1, I know that it’s there, floating around in the back of my head, waiting to be dealt with.
Last year, I wanted to cook more and eat healthier. I started off slowly but have really loved scouting recipe blogs, planning my weekly grocery trips and busting out the crockpot more often. Last weekend, I even made a double batch of chili and froze half for when I’m too lazy to cook.
This year, I’m going full-on Marie Kondo and bringing a little zen to my apartment. I’ll start by ordering The Life Changing Magic of Tidying Up, a book that can’t seem to leave the top of the NYTimes best-seller list. I’m also participating (albeit a couple of days behind) in Apartment Therapy’s January Cure, a day-by-day plan to declutter, organize and clean your home. Step one? Buy yourself flowers.
How about you? Any resolutions? Let me know what’s on your to-do list for 2016.
